A combination shot of one of the interior reading lights and
speaker.

Here is an external shot of my electrical box. I took a standard steel junction box
and made a more attractive outer wood box for it. The wires coming from the wall will be left as is since they will not be visible
once the top is completed. This will also make it easier if I decide to add more wiring. The pair of wires going straight down
are for the pair of 12" compact flourescent lights hidden under the shelf (see below). The other set of wires from the bottom are
for the battery. The cable is 10' so I do not have to worry about securing the battery and taking up valuable interior space.

Shot of the same box with the lid open. I recessed two small brass
hinges for a closer fit. The terminal block came from West Marine (~$12.00). It fit nicely into a standard box without any modifications. All wires are labeled
for easy identification.

Same shot, just closer and at a different angle.

Testing my pair of compact 12v flourescent lights (available at West Marine
for $35 each). They are hidden nicely by the front trim (hard to tell from this angle - these lights are only about 1" thick). They have longer lights but I
figured I would rather have two lights that I could control better than one longer version. Power consumption is slight higher for the two, but only
by a few 10ths of an amp.

Assembling one of the two drawers that are part of the interior cabinet area. Notice my
new 50" clamp guide. Not quite sure how I managed before this.

The drawer face after 3 coats. I started using ultra-fine (000) steel wool for my
finish coats instead of sand paper. These mahogany drawer faces are smooth as silk. Unfortunately, due to the higher quality of this surface, I will need to
refinish some of the other surrounding mahogany pieces that are a bit rougher. I figure a good polish with some steel wool and one more coat and everything should match.
I will post photos of the finished cabinet area once I am finished with the drawers.

The next 3 photos are a rough wide field of my finished cabinets with drawers. Sorry
for the rough photos but my wide angle isn't wide enough. There are 4 top doors that access one large area with no dividers. Below that are 4 sections. The inner
2 are pull out drawers and the outer 2 are open storage areas. The wood face, including cabinets and drawers, are all solid mahogony.

Here is a better look at one side of the upper cabinets with the doors open.

The right storage area will be used for my CD player - notice the wiring for sound and power. I placed
some carpet on the bottom (same with the left) for that finished look.

Here is the left storage area. Same as the right but without stereo stuff.
