Shipping for Frozen Items

Shipping is free on orders over $100. We will ship your package via UPS/FedEx Ground*, unless your location is west coast in which case we will automatically ship Express for a 2 to 3 day Transit. Your package will take 1 to 3 days to arrive to you once it is shipped. We do not ship across weekends because shipping time extends past the effectiveness of dry ice. 
  • Orders placed on Monday will ship same day if placed before 8:00 AM ET.
  • Orders placed on Tuesday thru Wednesday will ship same day if placed before 12pm ET.
  • Orders placed after 12pm ET Tuesday will be shipped the following day.
  • Orders placed on Wednesday after 12pm thru Sunday will ship Monday, with the following exception:
  • Orders placed on Wednesday thru Thursday before 12pm within (NC, SC & VA only) will ship same day, since delivery takes one day.
We are unable to ship to PO boxes or FPO or APO addresses. Currently we are able to ship only to continental US addresses.
    * FedEx and UPS Ground are our standard, cost-effective shipping. If you prefer to expedite your shipment please select one of our expedited shipping options during checkout.

    Requested Delivery Dates

    You may request or schedule a delivery date in the future and we will do our best to accommodate the requested date. However, please note that certain dates may be impossible to accommodate depending on your area, day of the week, weather, and carrier delivery schedule. E.g: Orders requested for Monday delivery could be delivered the Friday before or on a later day of the requested week. 

    Shipping Tinned Fish

    To prevent damage during transit, tinned items will always ship separately from frozen items. Tinned items will ship with FedEx Ground economy and may take up to 7 business days for delivery. 

    Storage

    Seafood ordered from Sizzlefish should be kept frozen until ready for preparation. Items can be stored frozen for up to 12 months, but are best if consumed within 6 months of purchase.

    Thawing Instructions:

    The best way to thaw our seafood is to remove the product from the original packaging, place it in a plastic bag, and allow it to thaw in the refrigerator for about 6 hours. If you require faster thawing, we recommend placing the product into a non-vacuum sealed bag and placing it in cool water for around thirty minutes to an hour.

    I am concerned with bones! Are they free of bones?
    Thank you for reaching out! Our Wild Fish Favorites Gift Pack contains boneless fish portions, with all bones removed prior to packaging. However, as with any natural product, we always recommend checking for any stray bones when preparing the fish, as occasional small bones can sometimes remain despite our careful processing. If you have any other questions or concerns, feel free to ask. We’re here to help!
    I was planning an order for delayed shipping, say for Christmas time. Is this possible?
    Yes you can certainly do so! You would just need to add the requested delivery date to the order notes and we'll ship it at the appropriate time.
    Where do you get your seafood?
    Every item on our site should have a map and their catch locations listed! A majority of our site is caught in the USA and only a few items are not due to their wild-caught locations. These would be the Atlantic Cod and Haddock, caught in Iceland. Ahi Tuna and Rainbow Trout. Our Colossal shrimp is caught in Mexico, and our Mahi-Mahi is caught in Ecuador. We source our seafood from the best fisherman all over the US. From the northeast with beautiful scallops, lobster, and rockfish to the southeast with red grouper, snapper, and the most fantastic gulf shrimp. Our halibut, sablefish, coho, sockeye, and king salmon are all sourced from local fishermen in Alaska, and our Cod and Haddock are sourced in the pristine waters of Iceland. Please note that our products are processed in the USA, and we do not use any phosphates, chemicals, or additives in our seafood.     You don't have to sign up for a subscription with us to have an account. You can order a la carte if you prefer and even with a subscription you can control the frequency of your orders, skip an order, or cancel at any time.
