Sushi & Sashimi Grade Ahi Tuna

Line-caught Pacific Yellowfin tuna (Ahi) represents a sustainable, healthy, and delicious choice. Its superior quality makes it perfect for use in sushi, poke or sashimi dishes. Other methods include pan-searing and grilling. This tuna is the perfect addition to vegetables or rice. Our tuna is treated with filtered smoke to retain the peak freshness and color after it is caught.

Each vacuum-sealed portion will weigh approximately 6 oz. To thaw out, simply place the tuna and its packaging into a cold water bowl for 30 minutes or until thawed in the center. If leaving out for longer than one hour, please make sure you cut open the corner of the package so it does not stay in an anaerobic state (without oxygen).

Shipping for Frozen Items

Shipping is free on orders over $100. We will ship your package via UPS/FedEx Ground*, unless your location is west coast in which case we will automatically ship Express for a 2 to 3 day Transit. Your package will take 1 to 3 days to arrive to you once it is shipped. We do not ship across weekends because shipping time extends past the effectiveness of dry ice.

Orders placed on Monday will ship same day if placed before 8:00 AM ET.
Orders placed on Tuesday thru Wednesday will ship same day if placed before 12pm ET.
Orders placed after 12pm ET Tuesday will be shipped the following day.
Orders placed on Wednesday after 12pm thru Sunday will ship Monday, with the following exception:
Orders placed on Wednesday thru Thursday before 12pm within (NC, SC & VA only) will ship same day, since delivery takes one day.

We are unable to ship to PO boxes or FPO or APO addresses. Currently we are able to ship only to continental US addresses.

* FedEx and UPS Ground are our standard, cost-effective shipping. If you prefer to expedite your shipment please select one of our expedited shipping options during checkout.

Requested Delivery Dates

You may request or schedule a delivery date in the future and we will do our best to accommodate the requested date. However, please note that certain dates may be impossible to accommodate depending on your area, day of the week, weather, and carrier delivery schedule. E.g: Orders requested for Monday delivery could be delivered the Friday before or on a later day of the requested week.

Shipping Tinned Fish

To prevent damage during transit, tinned items will always ship separately from frozen items. Tinned items will ship with FedEx Ground economy and may take up to 7 business days for delivery.

Storage

Seafood ordered from Sizzlefish should be kept frozen until ready for preparation. Items can be stored frozen for up to 12 months, but are best if consumed within 6 months of purchase.

Thawing Instructions:

The best way to thaw our seafood is to remove the product from the original packaging, place it in a plastic bag, and allow it to thaw in the refrigerator for about 6 hours. If you require faster thawing, we recommend placing the product into a non-vacuum sealed bag and placing it in cool water for around thirty minutes to an hour.

Do you ever carry Uni, soft shell crabs or shad roe sets?: Thank you for your inquiry. Yes, we do carry soft shell crabs in our selection. Our soft-shell blue crabs are packed individually into vacuum-sealed packages with 2 crabs per pack and are approximately 4.5-5" in length (claw to claw). These crabs are sourced from the waters of the Chesapeake Bay's Eastern Shore, where local watermen have perfected the art of selecting shedding crabs for the ideal soft shell. However, we do not currently offer shad roe sets or uni in our product lineup. If you have any further questions or if there's anything else we can assist you with, please feel free to let us know. Why did you raise your prices: There are a few different factors that impact the price. Because we deal with frozen orders we need to do at least 2-3 day shipping that comes with a higher cost. All our products are 100% additive free, sourced from sustainable fisheries, and we work directly with Alaska Seafood and Wild Caught Seafood. We do have a loyalty and referral program that can help with the cost.
