Halibut is packed with vitamins and minerals such as phosphorus, vitamins B6 & B12, magnesium, Niacin, iron, zinc, vitamin A and Omega-3 fatty acids. Omega-3 fatty acids help to reduce the risk of irregular heartbeat, lower triglyceride levels, and slow plaque growth in arteries. Halibut is also a great source of protein!

Shipping for Frozen Items

Shipping is free on orders over $100. We will ship your package via UPS/FedEx Ground*, unless your location is west coast in which case we will automatically ship Express for a 2 to 3 day Transit. Your package will take 1 to 3 days to arrive to you once it is shipped. We do not ship across weekends because shipping time extends past the effectiveness of dry ice.

Orders placed on Monday will ship same day if placed before 8:00 AM ET.
Orders placed on Tuesday thru Wednesday will ship same day if placed before 12pm ET.
Orders placed after 12pm ET Tuesday will be shipped the following day.
Orders placed on Wednesday after 12pm thru Sunday will ship Monday, with the following exception:
Orders placed on Wednesday thru Thursday before 12pm within (NC, SC & VA only) will ship same day, since delivery takes one day.

We are unable to ship to PO boxes or FPO or APO addresses. Currently we are able to ship only to continental US addresses.

Requested Delivery Dates

You may request or schedule a delivery date in the future and we will do our best to accommodate the requested date. However, please note that certain dates may be impossible to accommodate depending on your area, day of the week, weather, and carrier delivery schedule. E.g: Orders requested for Monday delivery could be delivered the Friday before or on a later day of the requested week.

Shipping Tinned Fish

To prevent damage during transit, tinned items will always ship separately from frozen items. Tinned items will ship with FedEx Ground economy and may take up to 7 business days for delivery.

Storage

Seafood ordered from Sizzlefish should be kept frozen until ready for preparation. Items can be stored frozen for up to 12 months, but are best if consumed within 6 months of purchase.

Thawing Instructions:

The best way to thaw our seafood is to remove the product from the original packaging, place it in a plastic bag, and allow it to thaw in the refrigerator for about 6 hours. If you require faster thawing, we recommend placing the product into a non-vacuum sealed bag and placing it in cool water for around thirty minutes to an hour.

While our Wild Alaska Halibut typically comes with skin on, you can easily remove it at home. Here's how: Place the halibut fillet skin-side down on a cutting board. Use a sharp knife to make a small cut between the flesh and the skin at one corner of the fillet. Hold the skin firmly with one hand and carefully slide the knife along the length of the fillet, separating the flesh from the skin. Continue to slide the knife between the flesh and the skin, using a gentle sawing motion, until the skin is completely removed. By following these steps, you can enjoy your halibut fillets without the skin. If you have any further questions or need assistance, please feel free to let us know. We're here to help!
Can the packages be frozen for later use?: Yes, you can absolutely freeze the seafood packages for later use. We take great care in packaging our orders with plenty of dry ice to ensure they stay frozen during the shipping process. Once you receive your order, you can choose to keep the portions in your freezer until you're ready to use them. Freezing is an excellent way to preserve the freshness of the seafood for an extended period, allowing you to enjoy it at your convenience down the line.
How much for 10 pound Halibut ?: We can certainly assist you with this! For 10lbs of the Halibut it would be 160oz. That would come out to 40 portions. The cost with a discount for a bulk order applied would come to $472.30 with free shipping.
