Winter Storm Fern Impacts

Notice Regarding Winter Storm Fern

Update 1/28/2026 - 7:28 AM EST

Winter storm Fern has caused major disruptions to shipping carriers across the United States this past week, even in areas that were not affected by ice or snow.

Several major US shipping hubs (Lexington, Memphis) have been impacted by the winter weather over the past week, creating a ripple effect through their shipping network, which we rely upon to deliver your packages to you.

Even now that winter storm Fern is behind us, these effects can linger for several days. Flight delays and cancellations at FedEx's primary shipping hub in Memphis create a bottleneck of packages that can take several days for the network to recover from.

Given the perishable nature of our products, transit delays often result in thawed packages upon delivery. We have made the decision to strategically hold shipping for certain packages the Week of January 26th, until we receive notice from FedEx that deliveries are passing through the network without delays.

Note that at this time (Jan 28th, 2026), we have resumed shipping packages travelling via ground transportation (Most states east of TX). However, flight cancellations continue to be a concern for packages travelling via air.

We are continuing to monitor the situation and rest assured that any affected shipments will be shipped out as soon as we receive word that it is safe to do so. If you have questions regarding your package, feel free to reach out to us at support@sizzlefish.com
