Summer is coming – look after your skin!

Summer is almost here, which means more skin and sun exposure. In addition to covering up or using sunscreen, eating foods high in omega-3 fatty acids, which are vital for supporting skin and hair.

Identify Your Skin Type

Experts suggest identifying your skin type to select appropriate skin care products:

  • Sensitive skin may sting or burn after product use
  • Normal skin is clear and not sensitive
  • Dry skin is flaky, itchy or rough
  • Oily skin is shiny and greasy
  • Combination skin is dry in some areas and oily in others

Basic Tips for Skin Care

Here are some basic steps you can take to protect your skin:

  • Sunscreen: Use broad-spectrum, water-resistant sunscreen with an SPF of 30 or higher. Reapply every two hours or after swimming or sweating. Avoid tanning beds.
  • Cover up: Seek shade and wear protective clothing, hats, and sunglasses.
  • Skin care routine: Use gentle cleansers, sunscreen, and moisturizers suitable for your skin type.
  • Check your skin: Regularly examine your skin for new spots or changes.
  • Diet: Eat a healthy diet rich in fruits, vegetables, whole grains, nuts, fatty fish, and legumes.

Avoid highly processed foods, alcohol, dehydration, and smoking, as they can negatively impact your skin.
