Citrus Marinated Cod Tacos
Fresh, vibrant, and full of bold flavor, these Citrus Marinated Cod Tacos are a simple way to bring bright coastal-inspired flavors to your dinner table. Made with Sizzlefish Wild Atlantic Cod, the fish becomes incredibly tender and flavorful after soaking in a zesty citrus marinade of orange, lime, and warm spices. The result is flaky grilled fish with subtle smokiness and a refreshing citrus kick that pairs perfectly with creamy guacamole and crisp toppings.
Wild Atlantic cod is an excellent choice for tacos because of its mild flavor and delicate, flaky texture. It easily absorbs the marinade while remaining light and tender when grilled. The combination of orange and lime juice adds brightness, while cumin, smoked paprika, and cayenne bring warmth and depth. After a quick marinade, the cod grills in just minutes, creating lightly charred edges while keeping the inside moist and flaky.
Once cooked, the fish breaks apart easily into large, tender pieces that tuck beautifully into warm tortillas. Layering the tacos with guacamole, chopped cilantro, red onion, and sliced jalapeños creates the perfect balance of creamy, fresh, and spicy flavors in every bite.
This recipe is perfect for busy weeknights when you want something fresh and flavorful without a lot of prep. The bright citrus marinade and quick grill time also make this an excellent summer grilling recipe, especially when you want something lighter than traditional grilled meats.
You can customize the tacos by choosing your favorite tortilla style:
- Corn tortillas for a classic street-taco flavor
- Flour tortillas for a softer, slightly chewy bite
- Whole wheat tortillas for a heartier option
- Grain-free or almond flour tortillas for a lower-carb alternative
Fish Substitutes for Cod
If cod isn’t available, you can easily substitute other mild white fish that flakes nicely and holds up well to grilling.
