These Colossal Gulf shrimp are wild-caught in the Gulf of California. They come peeled and deveined while the tail remains on. Our fishermen stay in compliance with strict sustainability regulations to ensure the preservation of our oceans. Each shrimp has been frozen at the peak of freshness for your convenience and has never been treated with additives, water, or chemicals.

What size is Colossal Shrimp?

Did you know that less than 15 shrimp per pound make up the term "colossal shrimp"? Other classifications are Super Jumbo, Jumbo, and Large.

"Super Jumbo" shrimp are considered 16-20ct per pound.

"Jumbo" Shrimp are considered 21-25ct per pound.

"Large" Shrimp are considered 26/30ct per pound.

Shipping for Frozen Items

Shipping is free on orders over $100. We will ship your package via UPS/FedEx Ground*, unless your location is west coast in which case we will automatically ship Express for a 2 to 3 day Transit. Your package will take 1 to 3 days to arrive to you once it is shipped. We do not ship across weekends because shipping time extends past the effectiveness of dry ice.

Orders placed on Monday will ship same day if placed before 8:00 AM ET.
Orders placed on Tuesday thru Wednesday will ship same day if placed before 12pm ET.
Orders placed after 12pm ET Tuesday will be shipped the following day.
Orders placed on Wednesday after 12pm thru Sunday will ship Monday, with the following exception:
Orders placed on Wednesday thru Thursday before 12pm within (NC, SC & VA only) will ship same day, since delivery takes one day.

We are unable to ship to PO boxes or FPO or APO addresses. Currently we are able to ship only to continental US addresses.

Requested Delivery Dates

You may request or schedule a delivery date in the future and we will do our best to accommodate the requested date. However, please note that certain dates may be impossible to accommodate depending on your area, day of the week, weather, and carrier delivery schedule. E.g: Orders requested for Monday delivery could be delivered the Friday before or on a later day of the requested week.

Shipping Tinned Fish

To prevent damage during transit, tinned items will always ship separately from frozen items. Tinned items will ship with FedEx Ground economy and may take up to 7 business days for delivery.

Storage

Seafood ordered from Sizzlefish should be kept frozen until ready for preparation. Items can be stored frozen for up to 12 months, but are best if consumed within 6 months of purchase.

Thawing Instructions:

The best way to thaw our seafood is to remove the product from the original packaging, place it in a plastic bag, and allow it to thaw in the refrigerator for about 6 hours. If you require faster thawing, we recommend placing the product into a non-vacuum sealed bag and placing it in cool water for around thirty minutes to an hour.

"This is my second 5-star review for the colossal wild shrimp from Sizzlefish. I LOVE THEM and must keep on hand in the freezer for myself and company. These are the best frozen shrimp and I've tried many. I just placed another big shrimp order with Sizzlefish. The shrimp are a really good size - 3 per person in a dish is plenty. Thawed, these shrimp sear beautifully over medium-high heat (be sure to pre-heat the pan!!). The colossal shrimp cook in about 2-1/2 minutes - 1 minute per side and then 30 seconds standing tail up in pan. After searing shrimp, I toss in a home-made sauce. They truly make the most super fast & easy, 5-star delicious meals."

"These shrimp are BIG and exquisite! I was hesitant to purchase shelled shrimp but am delighted I did! These wild shrimp are perfectly packaged and arrive hard frozen. Upon delivery, I stored right away in freezer and then take out a few shrimp at a time to cook as desired. They are the most delicious shrimp I've had (and I'm a shrimp lover so saying a lot). They are firm with a crisp bite, sweet, and saute` to perfection in 3 minutes or less. Arriving shelled and deveined is super convenient and there is no sacrifice to taste. I still make shrimp stock using only shelled shrimp. But now I order these for easy 5-minute meals from start to finish - just take out of freezer and put in fridge to thaw a few hours before cooking."

There are 8 colossal sized shrimp in each pack. You can schedule your order to arrive as close to July 4th as possible by requesting a delivery date on the slide out cart. The latest you could place that order and have it arrive by the 4th would be June 28th at 12:00 PM ET.
