You're Only 20 Minutes Away From Awesome Flavor!
Gather your Tuna filets (from Sizzlefish of course!) and get started! In addition to fresh and tasty vegetables, a delicious homemade sauce, and fresh Tuna from Sizzlefish, we also added two types of sesame seeds to add even more flavor!
What Fresh Vegetables Should I Use?
For the wrap we chose to use Butter Lettuce, but if you're not a fan of that then regular Iceberg Lettuce will still provide the nice crunch you're looking for. We will also be using, carrots, yellow pepper, and cucumbers for our fresh vegetables but feel free to throw in your favorite as well.
What About The Sauce?
This recipe is a two-parter since you will be making your sauce from scratch, but we think that just makes the entire recipe that much better. The almond butter for this sauce adds a creaminess and flavor that brings lettuce wrap together, so we highly recommend using this instead of an alternative nut butter. Mix that together with your coconut aminos and apple cider vinegar and you're done!
2 ahi tuna filets, thawed
1 tbsp. avocado oil
8 large butter lettuce leaves
1 cup shredded carrots
1/2 yellow pepper, sliced into matchsticks
1 cup cucumber, sliced into matchsticks
½ tsp. black sesame seeds
½ tsp. white sesame seeds
½ cup almond butter, smooth and creamy
1 tsp. coconut aminos
1 tbsp. apple cider vinegar

For the Sauce
In a small bowl, stir the ingredients together for the sauce. Note if the sauce is too thick for your liking, you can add 1-2 tablespoons of water to thin. Set aside.
Add the avocado oil to a skillet and bring to medium heat.
Sear the ahi tuna 1-2 minutes on each side (or to your desire) then place the tuna on a plate to set 5 minutes.
Place the butter lettuce leaves on a plate, add the sliced cucumber, bell pepper and shredded carrots.
Using a sharp knife, slice the ahi tuna into 1/2 -inch thickness and place on top of the prepared butter lettuce leaves. Sprinkle with black and white sesame seeds.
Serve with sauce.
