Sizzlefish halibut is wild caught off the pristine waters of Southeast Alaska, off Baranof Island. The size of the fish we select is specific to yield perfectly tender, flaky fillet servings for you to prepare at home. Alaska halibut is a naturally lean fish that cooks up white, flaky and loaded with a healthy dose of protein, vitamins and minerals.
Let’s talk about the crispy deliciousness of this Parmesan Baked Halibut. The combination of garlic, parmesan cheese, fresh bread crumbs, and zest of lemon are the perfect amount of salty zesty crunch. We love when we can get through the hustle and bustle of a busy day to have a delicious family meal that doesn’t take forever to get on the table. Simply placing the bread and parmesan cheese in the food processor together then blitzing it to a fine crumb makes for a super easy, delicious combination with less hassle. Normally we would think that a meal that requires dipping in egg and bread crumbs could be on the more difficult side, but since we’ve streamlined a few steps and the fish bakes in just 20 minutes, this meal is surprisingly fast. We pared it with a deliciously fresh bed of mixed greens to make life even easier. We absolutely love how the parmesan cheese and bread crumbs melt just enough around the halibut fillets to give you some extra crispy cheesy bits to use for more crunch on your salad. Trust us, if you want a special treat with little work on a busy night, you will want to make this Parmesan Baked Halibut recipe.
4 Sizzlefish Halibut Fillets
Salt, to taste
Pepper, to taste
3 oz Fresh Parmesan Cheese, sliced into chunks
2 Slices of Bread
3 Garlic Cloves, minced
Zest of 1 Lemon
1 Egg
Olive Oil
Preheat the oven to 400F. Line a sheet pan with parchment paper.
Salt and pepper the halibut fillets to taste.
In a food processor, place the Parmesan cheese and blend until it resembles bread crumbs. Next add the bread to the food processor and blend with the cheese. Pulse until the bread is ground to fine crumb. Place the bread crumbs in a wide rimmed bowl.
Next add the minced garlic cloves and lemon zest to the bread crumb mixture. Stir well to combine.
Whisk the egg well in a separate wide rimmed bowl.
Dip seasoned halibut fillet in the whisked egg, then coat well in the bread mixture and place on the parchment lined sheet pan.
Continue with each fillet. Evenly distribute the remaining bread crumbs onto the halibut fillets. Drizzle a little olive oil over the fillets. Bake for 20 minutes.
