Sizzlefish salmon is filled with heart healthy Omega-3 fatty acids. Not only that, it’s full of vitamin B12, selenium and protein, which makes adding a healthy meal of salmon into the supper time rotation a must!
This recipe for Asian BBQ Salmon is sweet, sticky and perfect for a quick family meal. We all know it can be somewhat difficult to get the kiddos to eat seafood. Well, this recipe will be a game changer for you in that department. We took a different take on the usual bbq recipe that is not only adult approved, but the kids go crazy for it too! Another great thing about this recipe is that you can either cook the salmon on the grill making it perfect for summer or you can bake it in the oven when it’s too cold to be outside. It’s always nice to have choices, right? For this recipe, we made a quick Asian BBQ sauce from scratch, but you can just as easily use a store bought sauce to make life even easier. The sauce comes together quickly and it’s made with ingredients you typically have in your refrigerator or pantry.
We’ve written this recipe for the oven, but to grill it, simply soak cedar planks in water for a couple of hours or overnight. Preheat your grill to medium heat. Place your salmon fillets on the cedar planks and then place them on the grill. Baste the fillets with the Asian BBQ Sauce, cover and cook for five to seven minutes. Baste the fillets again, cover and cook for an additional five to seven minutes or until the sauce becomes caramelized, the salmon fillets are pink and flaky in the center.
We served this meal with rice noodles, scallions and fresh cilantro. YUM!
