Why This Recipe Works
This grilled walleye dish showcases the beauty of a mild, sweet white fish by complementing it with a zesty, buttery citrus sauce. Walleye fish fillets are naturally tender and flaky, making them suitable for grilling because they cook quickly over a hot grill without the risk of drying out. As the fish cooks, a smoky flavor develops, which complements the citrus sauce perfectly.
This citrus-infused butter sauce complements the fish perfectly without overpowering the natural flavor of the fish, adding a zesty flavor from the lemon and orange that complements the natural sweetness of the walleye fish. This simple yet bold dish requires only a few ingredients, making it a great option for a meal that is both effortless and sophisticated.
